Odin Flatware Service for 8 - Stainless Steel, Germany, 1960s
Odin Flatware Service for 8 - Stainless Steel, Germany, 1960s
Set of Dansk stainless steel flatware in the Odin pattern. Odin is one of Jens Quistgaard’s earlier flatware patterns for Dansk and was introduced around 1960. The bowl and tine ends of each piece are nearly identical to that used in the Fjord pattern, but each utensil is made entirely of steel, which tapers along the handle, then flares at the tip. Naming the pattern after the Norse god Odin, reinforced the Scandinavian character of the design. Made in Germany, 1960s.
Comprising 8 dinner knives, 8 dinner forks, 8 luncheon forks, 8 tablespoons, 8 teaspoons. 40 pieces total, care card included.
Overall condition is good with minor wear to the steel, with slightly more scuff to the back sides. One knife has tiny pitting along the side, and one fork shows a bit more wear on the front—see detail images.
Pair of stainless steel salt and pepper shakers designed by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk. These are in the Odin pattern and coordinated with the flatware pattern of the same name. Each retains its original orange plastic stopper.
Each measures about 4 5/8 inches high, 1 1/4 inch diameter across the bottom. Molded mark on underside.
Overall condition is good with very minor surface wear.. Stoppers fit snugly, interiors seem clean.
