Martz Stoneware and Walnut Lamp - Marshall Studios - Sectioned Model 221

$0.00

Mid-century ceramic table lamp designed by Jane and Gordon Martz for Marshall Studios of Veedersburg, Indiana. The body (model 221) is comprised of stoneware drums separated by a walnut spacers, with wood base and neck. The glaze is probably what Martz termed ‘matte white’, which is a very light gray with faint speckles. Unsigned, with original walnut finial and original wiring. 1960s.

I do have the original shade, but it is not included with the base. If you are interested, let me know and we can discuss.

Overall height to the top of the shade/finial: 39 inches high

Height to top of walnut neck: 24 inches

Diameter of base: 7 3/8 inches

(The shade is 18 inches high, 17 inches top diameter, 19 inches bottom diameter)

Overall condition of the base is good, with no chips or cracks to the ceramic; a few spots where the glaze thins at the edges. One of the walnut spacers has checked (split) along the grain.

While the lamp is in working condition with its original wiring, I recommend having this rewired for safety.
