Staved teak waste paper basket designed by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk. Made in Denmark, circa 1958. In a period newspaper article, it was noted that this 'teak stool can double up as a table or be turned upside down as a wastepaper basket.'
Measures about 12 1/4 inches high, 12 3/4 inches diameter. Branded mark on underside.
Overall condition is good, with some light wear and scratches, natural variations in the color and figure of the teak. There are a few small splits in the wood, likely due to shrinkage of the staves along the grain--see detail images. The interior is clean and appropriate for use, with a few dark spots visible.
