Dansk Fjord Butter Spreader, circa 1960

$65.00

Dansk teak-handled stainless steel butter spreader in the Fjord pattern, designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1954. This appears unused and still has its original plastic wrap. A mid-century classic, this pattern is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Made in Germany, circa 1960.

Marked Dansk Designs Germany with the four ducks mark, indicating earlier manufacture in the 1960s.

See my blog post on Dansk's Fjord and how to care for it here:

Overall condition is very good--this was apparently little used. Soe wear to plastic wrap.

This flatware is NOT safe for use in dishwashers. I recommend rubbing the wood handles with a food-safe oil once or twice a year to keep them in top form.
