Set of Six Dansk Fjord Butter Spreaders, circa 1960

$0.00

Set of six Dansk teak-handled stainless steel butter spreaders in the Fjord pattern, designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1954. These are unused and still in their original plastic wrap. A mid-century classic, this pattern is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Made in Germany, circa 1960.

All pieces are marked Dansk Designs Germany with the four ducks mark, indicating earlier manufacture in the 1960s.

See my blog post on Dansk's Fjord and how to care for it here:

Overall condition is very good--these are all apparently unused. I have not opened all the plastic wraps to inspect each one, but I have no reason to suspect any issues within. I definitely suggest oiling the handles after opening them.

This flatware is NOT safe for use in dishwashers. I recommend rubbing the wood handles with a food-safe oil once or twice a year to keep them in top form.
