Great for keeping warm on a chilly night, camp blankets from the 1920s through ‘50s are a wonderful decorative touch in your home. Made in wool, cotton and synthetics by companies such as Beacon and Esmond, these blankets were generally associated with rustic living in cabins--hence the name ‘camp’ blanket. The pattern is reversible.

This blanket was made by Beacon and appears in their 1938 catalogue as the Wigwam pattern, variation 85. The orange is woven in ombre shades, a technique Beacon developed in the 1930s. Made of all cotton with a napped finish, the ends are hemmed with a satin binding.

Measures approximately 70 x 80 inches.

Overall condition is good. I have washed this blanket--I recommend cold water, gentle detergent, gentle cycle and line drying for future laundering. The nap shows minor overall wear and slight pilling, with a couple minor thin spots, with an area of spotting on one area of the satin binding and a a few other pulls and repairs to the stitching on the binding.
