Pair of Ernst Schwadron Upholstered Lounge Chairs, 1940s

$0.00

Pair of upholstered lounge chairs by Austrian-American designer Ernst Schwadron. Having emigrated to the United States in the late 1930s, Schwadron became the chief designer for New York retailer Rena Rosenthal and an early designer for Knoll in the 1940s. Schwadron used this design in his own home in Cold Spring, New York.

Each chair measures 32 1/2 inches high, 29 inches wide, 27 inches deep, seat height is about 17 inches.

Overall condition is good. The pink cotton upholstery is in fair condition with some small stains to one side and snags throughout, especially on the backs. The legs have been refinished; there is a repair along the grain to one back leg, and small chips at the ends to others.
